Mission
Friends Neighborhood Nature School transforms the lives of young children by providing an inclusive, enriching, play-based education that nurtures the inquiry, independence, and social and emotional well-being of children ages 2½ to 6 years old. Informed by education research and guided by the Quaker testimonies of integrity, peace, equality, simplicity, stewardship, and community, the Friends curriculum uses the natural world to celebrate the individuality of each student while fostering a community of learners. As young artists, naturalists, innovators, explorers, problem-solvers, and communicators, our students cooperate in a mixed-aged classroom environment and develop the foundation of academic, social, and emotional skills that will serve them for a lifetime.
